The healthy box spring bed: now gently and invisibly motorized
The German-Finnish family business Fennobed combines motorized and box spring bed. Finnish design love and aesthetics meet the best German craftsmanship and technology. Two separate motors make the bed almost silent and particularly durable. Nevertheless, the drive remains hidden – because the bed should also meet the highest visual standards.
A relaxing and healthy night’s sleep, a sophisticated motor and a keen sense of design and aesthetics – is it possible to combine these demands in a single bed? Elli and Andreas Lehnhoff, managing directors of Fennobed GmbH, set themselves precisely this goal. After all, more and more customers wanted motorized beds. The ones available on the market did not meet their taste and rarely their needs – they never did justice to either. Elli and Andreas therefore developed Suvia, a box spring bed with motor drive.
Silently into the favorite position
The basis of the bed is a dual motor system. As a rule, most motorized beds are equipped with only one motor. Suvia, on the other hand, has two: under the headboard and under the footboard. „Putting your feet up and relaxing, reading upright or having breakfast in bed – all this works very comfortably with Suvia,“ explains Andreas Lehnhoff. By remote control, the two motors can be controlled separately and move the bed only where it is actually necessary. This runs almost silently, and is also extremely stable and durable. „We wanted to create a maintenance-free motorized bed. After all, a bed is not an object that you can simply put in repair,“ says Lehnhoff. If the headboard or footboard are not moved, no electricity flows at all. In addition, the voltage only reaches from the socket to the power supply unit, which is located outside the bed. From there, only the 24 volts needed for the drive flow to the bed itself. Suvia is therefore safer than beds with other systems commonly available on the market.
Full box spring comfort
Like all Fennobed boxspring beds, Suvia consists of an innerspring box, mattress and comfort topper, providing optimal support and lying characteristics. A healthy and restful sleep is promoted. The degree of hardness of the bed is first individually adjusted to the body shape and weight of the future owner. With an electrically adjustable double bed, different comfort settings can be selected and combined for each side of the bed. Sleeping comfort made to measure is thus guaranteed.
Invisible technology
However, the multi-layered bed structure and technology remain in the background at Suvia. „Of course, health-promoting comfort and the best possible technology were the top priorities for our motor box spring bed. But we wanted to make both extremely visually appealing,“ Lehnhoff emphasizes. „To achieve this, we tried out a lot and created detailed solutions.“ All visible and invisible fittings, for example, are powder-coated in anthracite. In this way, they take a back seat. All fabrics are pulled into the frame and faced – and not merely stapled. Lehnhoff: „Our bed impresses with its special quality. It also has to meet our customers‘ high design standards when assembled or viewed from below.“ The aesthetics of the bed can also be personalized. Different fabrics, covers, feet and headboards can be selected as desired. Suvia can thus be adapted entirely to one’s own taste and to the furnishings, season or mood – with the foundation always the same and tailored to one’s own body.
Highest standards – for sustainability and the environment
Fennobed attaches great importance to the special quality and naturalness of the materials used. The in-house manufacture produces exclusively with high-quality European raw materials. The frame of the Suvia motorized box spring bed, for example, is made of solid, untreated pine wood from Estonian forests. All textiles comply with the Oeko-Tex Standard 100. ISO-certified spring systems from Germany, CertiPUR cold foam and latex according to Euro-Latex and LGA standards also stand for the highest quality. The motors were also carefully selected according to Fennobed value and environmental requirements. They are manufactured by the southern German family-owned company Hettich, which lives a consistent environmental management and sets itself the highest quality standards for all materials used.
